YUM!

Whenever I go to the local grocery store here near my home I always get from the deli their oriental chicken salad. It's my favorite and no other store has it. I even asked if I could have the recipe. He jotted down the ingredients but didn't put the amounts for each one. I tried making it at home but it just wasn't the same. I guess he still has a customer! :)

It consists of ramen noodles, cabbage, chunks of chicken, onions, cilantro (the kicker) and seasonings. YUM YUM!

Jar Lid Pin Cushion

Here is an clever way to reuse old canning lids. Make a pin cushion. I didn't make but I wanted to share this. It appears to be made of two canning rings, one lid (for the bottom), a styrofoam ball cut down to size, some green velvet, trim and flower embelishments.

No-Sew Reversible Fleece Blanket

You've probably seen these blankets around. It is a no-sew blanket out of two different fleece fabric pieces tied together to form one revesible blanket. Very warm and toasty! (Sorry about the color. It not this green!)I started with a kit that included 2 coordinating fleece pieces at 2 yards each (60" x 72") or you can pick out your own fabric. Just cut 7 inch long strips all around the edges, which means you'll need to cut 7 inch square off the corners, see photo below. The strips are approximately 1 inch wide. Cut both fabrics.
Lay one piece on top of the other, wrong sides together.
And knot the bottom frindge to the top frindge. Continue all around and voila! It's done!
Shadow likes to watch when I work. My projects are usually done on my bed. She's 18 years old! I've had her longer than my kids.
